Frances’ life is an expression of her bhakti and love. Since childhood she has been on a spiritual journey, exploring many various paths and philosophies. Raised by a wonderful mother who practiced Iyengar Yoga and Transcendental Meditation, Frances learned early on about the amazing power of yoga, meditation and prayer. She discovered Kundalini Yoga at the age of 17 and immediately embraced it as a powerful tool to help her recover from unhealthy addictive behaviors. The practice of Kundalini Yoga taught Frances to step into her birthright of happiness and to honor her life as a woman.
The daily commitment of a yoga practice gives Frances strength, willpower and the clarity to live a loving, compassionate and conscientious life. Frances delights in the strong physicality of asanas and deeply appreciates how much deeper she can go in meditation as a result. Frances is very interested in yoga philosophy and thus tries to incorporate all eight limbs of yoga into her practice and teaching style. Frances has explored many different schools of yoga from the traditional to the many postmodern expressions of this ancient practice. She is most drawn to the Ashtanga yoga tradition, practicing in the Mysore style 6 days a week. In addition she maintains her daily pranayama and meditation practices derived from Kundalini Yoga.
Frances is a KRI Certified Instructor of Kundalini Yoga as Taught by Yogi Bhajan. She trained under the tutelage of Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa and other KRI Senior Teachers. In addition, Frances has completed a 200-hour yoga teacher certification authorized by Yoga Alliance in which she learned how to teach and sequence yoga classes rooted in the teachings of T. Krishnamacharya. Frances teaches both Vinyasa Flow and Kundalini classes in Charlottesville. Frances is a massage therapist practicing various healing modalities. Frances feels so blessed to have been given these profound tools. She humbly offers her services to others in hopes to uplift, heal and spread love and light to all.
